Frequently Asked Questions

Gas Installation Questions, Answered.

Straight answers to the questions Port Elizabeth homeowners and landlords ask us most. Can't find what you're after? Just get in touch.

Do I legally need a Gas Certificate of Compliance (CoC)?
Yes. A valid Certificate of Compliance is required whenever a gas installation is new or altered, and is commonly required when a property with a gas installation is sold or leased. We issue compliant certificates on completion of eligible work.
Is LPG gas safe to use in my home?
Yes — LPG is safe when installed and maintained correctly by a qualified, Gas Safe registered installer, using the correct pipework, regulators and ventilation for each appliance.
How much does a gas installation cost in Port Elizabeth?
Cost depends on the scope of work — the number of appliances, length of pipe run, and whether a new certificate is required. We provide clear, upfront quotes before any work begins, so there are never surprises.
Can I install or repair gas appliances myself?
Gas work should always be carried out by a qualified, registered gas installer. Incorrect installation or repair creates serious safety risks and can invalidate insurance or compliance certification.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Avoid open flames, sparks or electrical switches, ventilate the area, shut off the gas supply at the cylinder if it's safe to do so, and contact us immediately on 067 349 3586 for an emergency callout.
How often should my gas geyser be serviced?
An annual safety service is recommended for gas geysers to check for wear, leaks and correct ventilation — helping to prevent breakdowns and keep the system safe.
Do you provide Certificates of Compliance for landlords and rental properties?
Yes. We carry out safety inspections and issue Certificates of Compliance for landlords, letting agents and property sales throughout Port Elizabeth.
